Craftiness


2 Sam:13:3b Now Jonadab was a very crafty man. 

Jonadab, was the son of Shimeah, David's brother and a friend of Amnon, David's son. It was Jonadab who devised a scheme to promote the sin of Amnon against Tamar. Because he was crafty. 

The word crafty means - clever at acheiving one's aims by indirect or deceitful methods. 
Craftiness involves cunningness. It involves lying. He advised Amnon to pretend what he was not. It involves devising schemes to get what is not yours. It involves selfishness to grab things for your own. 
Do you plan to grab things? 
Copying in an exam. 
Telling white lies - lies which are not harmful to anyone. 
Faking an injury. 
Writing a fake leave letter. 

The world does not see any wrong in all these. But the fact that, "Thou shall not lie" is one of the ten Commandments sends a strong statement to all these non harmful things. It ascertains the fact that "A sin is a sin." No ifs or buts. No gradation.

      Amen. The world says it's ok. The fallen nature says. What's wrong. But the Lord sees even the small sin and sin.

Everything we need

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. 2 Pet:1:3 Everything we need for our life in this present world; all our material needs; all our basic needs. And also for godliness; that is to grow in the knowledge of God; to build up in a relationship with God. Everything that you can think of. Everything you can ask for. Everything that you need. Has been given. It is yours for the taking. He will provide. For His name is Jehovah Jireh. Only we have to take it. Only we have to believe it and receive it. Why has He given us this? Eternal life

What is eternal life? 1 John:2:24-25 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what He promised us - even eternal life. The Triune God remaining in you and you in Him, is eternal life.  John:17:3  - Now this is eternal life. That they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent Eternal life is not something you will receive on the other side of death. Golden streets, the river that will continue to flow without being dried up, fruits on trees in all season. Eternal life is now. It is knowing Him and remaining in Him. Life in all its abundance. Life to the fullest as it is designed to be. Yes it extends to eternity.  That it is not limited to a time frame, is just one dimension to it. Do not be surprised my brothers, if the world hates you.  1 John:3:13 No element of surprise. Expect the worst. Expect hatred. Expect no love. Then you won't be surprised. Because the world hated Jesus first. The world. Not directed to people. The system. We are enemies of the evil one.  So naturally the principalities of this world will fight. Hate. 2 John:6 And this is love, that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love. Love is obedience. Obeying His command of love. Everything you do is based on love. Love to God; and love to others. Love is the source based on which you act; you live Love not manufactured from broken cisterns But love that pours out from the source of unending living waters.
