As they trod in the wilderness
Their enemies were filled with fear and awe
Their lives looked a mess
If Israel would conquer them anew
So they resorted to deception and fraud
Gibeonites they were, but said they were from far
Nothing did Israel doubt, it was odd
They did not consult their God who would care
When we think we know it all,
We forget there is a grand Weaver behind
Choosing for yourself, we need not play that role
Asking Him, rest we find.
"Your own ears will hear Him
Right behind you a voice will say
This is the way you should go
Whether to the right or to the left"
When I am afraid, I will trust Him
But when I'm confident, do I?
When logically reasonable, do I trust Him?
Driver's seat is not mine, for sure
Lot chose what He thought was best for Him
But ended up being a bad example
But Abraham trusted in the God who called Him
And was blest with a reward which no one could take away.
When I'm sure this is the best
When I'm confident, things could work for me
If I go this way, the plan looks superb
But can we trust in His word - I have plans
To prosper you not to harm you
That is the beauty of faith
That is the beauty of resting in His bosom always
For FAITH is For All I Trust Him.
