Prayer


Psalm six is a prayer to God by David.
Many a times I run out of words in praying to God. 
Psalmist describes words to express his plea to God.

1. Have compassion on me Lord (v:2)
It's a request to God to feel for him. In this time of loneliness and self centredness when there is no one to feel for you. It's a plea to God requesting Him to be on your side.
It's also an appeal to come to his aide as he is weak. 
Rom:8:31 If God is for us who can be against us.

2. Heal me(v:2). It's a plea to God to touch him and heal him completely. Physically, mentally, emotionally. A healing in a multidimensional way. Bones in agony signifies physical, mental and emotional pain.

3. Restore me(v:3). Restore means to bring back to original situation. Means to what we were initially. To His bosom. To being his child. Presence of sin marrs our relationship with God. And a petition to restore is first by repenting and asking for forgiveness. 
In Psalm 51 David asks to restore unto me the joy of thy salvation. And renew a right Spirit within me.

4. Return(v:4) A request to return to his heart. Sin is something which God abhors. And the presence of sin is something which God hates. 
Psalm:66:18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

5. Rescue me(v:4) A realisation that I'm not able to save myself from my inherent sinfulness. That I need help. That I need a Saviour. No amount of good works I do will be able to please God to permit me to have eternal life. There had to be a Saviour who would do the extra ordinary thing to save me from my plight.
All our good works are like filthy rags.

6. Save me(v:4) Salvation has to come from God. As His initiative. Not by my works. 
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

7. Finally in v:8-9 we see the confidence that his prayers are answered.
The Lord has heard my weeping
The Lord has heard my pleas
The Lord will answer my prayer.

    Beautiful thoughts.
    Reminded me of the verse “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”

Micah:4:12 That He is gathering them together To be beaten up and trampled Like sheaved of grain on a threshing floor.  The Lord gathers together to beat and trample. Oh! Isn't it mean? What are we supposed to do Lord?

Micah 6 V:3 What have I done to you?  What have I done to make you tired of me?  V:5 Don't you remember, my people?  When I the Lord did everything I could To teach you about my faithfulness.  V:6 What can we bring to the Lord?  What kind of offerings should we give Him?  V:8 This is what He requires of you.  To do what is right, to love mercy And to walk humbly with your God.  This is the only thing you're supposed to do Oh! bard. Only thing He requires of you. Not to accomplish great things for Him. Not to conquer nations for Him. If that is your calling, well yes, do it. But more important for Him is this. Very simple thing He expects of you.  To do what is right. According to His heart. According to His standards.  To love mercy. To deny all self righteousness and self centeredness, be filled with compassiin and consider others better than yourself.  To walk humbly with your God, denyinh your own self. Delight

Ps:147:11 The Lord's delight is in those who fear Him If you delight in Him, He will delight in you. Oh! Is it like tit for tat?  No dear bard! He has already delighted in you. He has loved you while you were still His enemies. You are mine He declares. You are His signet ring, He proclaims.  Not because you fear Him. Not because He foreknew you would fear Him. But because He loves. Hosea was asked to marry a harlot and he continued to love her despite her unfaithfulness. Just like He continues to delight in you oh! The Holy Temple

Micah:1:5 Where is the center of idolatory on Judah?  In Jerusalem; it's capital.  The very place which was supposed to be kept sacred and holy, has now been defiled and become the very center of desecration. Fully polluted and corrupted. Why should He not be wrathful?  The heart of holiness; which was supposed to be the throne of the most High God with all His richness and glory has been befouled and debased.  The very heart dear bard - which is supposed to be the temple of the most Holy God, what all do you entertain? Confines the king to a corner in your quiet times and church and bible study. As if you give charity and satisfy Him and then you do whatever you want, the rest of the time.  You think you can fool around with His holiness? This is one chant that goes up in heaven for eternity - Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty. Oh! Don't nullify it with your fancies.  He is serious about His holiness. When you don't have anything else to do......

In the fish's belly Jonah was there for three days and three nights. In that dark place, he could only look to God. He could not run away, which he was so specialized in. He couldn't do anything else which he was an expert. He couldn't do anything he wanted to desperately do. All he could do was to sit in God's presence.  Sometimes God places you in circumstances where you can only pray. You can do nothing else. And at that time, please pray. Do not try to do anything else. Even if you do not feel like praying, that is the time when you are supposed to. Helpless as you are, you can open up to your Father. Words do not matter at that time. Trust

He is close to those who trust in Him. Nah:1:7 Oh! When you feel all alone in this dark world. When you feel you don't have anyone to lean on to. There is one person who promised to be with you, always, to the end of days. He has promised to never leave or forsake you. All we have to do is to just trust in Him. He is true. He will never fail. Even if heaven and earth will fail, His word will always remain.  He is faithful. Patient endurance

Micah:7:9 But after that He will take up my case And give me justice for all I have suffered from my enemies.  As you go through the Lord's heavy hand, it is true it is difficult. It is tough. Sometimes you are perplexed not knowing what to do. Helpless. But it is better to be patient as you go through this tough time. Patience brings a lot of peace. It controls the way you react. It controls the way you take it.  Patient endurance, long suffering is something we should learn. Because the Lord has assured hard times in this world. The world will surely hate us because it has already hated our Master. So let us endure patiently.  And as we endure, the promise of our Almighty Saviour is that - He will take up my case and give me justice. And if God is on my side, who can be against us.
