At Kadesh, which was later called Meribah, people complaint against Moses and Aaron that they do not have water to drink. Moses is instructed to speak to the rock to provide water. But Moses out of his anger to the Israelites strikes the rock twice, and water gushes out.
Num:20:12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them to the land I am giving them.
WAIT! HOLD ON!
What happened to Moses' purpose of life?
Why was he called?
Why punish him for such a small sin?
This is injustice - Korah and the idol worshippers and the rebels and Moses all have the same punishment. Totally unfair?
Let's look at it in a different perspective. In God's eye view.
⭐ God asks to speak to the rock, Moses strikes. Imagine the two scenarios and you are there in the scene. Where do you think His power would be established better? One shows God's power alone and the other is like God using Moses. Our God is an el-kannah God.
Have I robbed God of his glory and power anytime?
⭐ But God doesn't hate Moses for this act. Going to the promised land is not the ultimate blessing. From an aggressive intuitive man, Moses has been transformed to the meekest man that ever walked on this earth. That transition, that transformation - it's worth it.
Looking back at this year, may be you might not have accomplished many things. But how transformed have you been?
⭐ Heb:11:39-40 All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.
What use of a land flowing with milk and honey, when you can inherit a land with golden streets and precious stone pillars and minarets?
Do I have hope for eternity to live by?
⭐ The second part of v:40 God had something better in mind for us.
The specific plan that God has for me, is different from the specific plan He has for my friend. So just because he is a successful youtuber, doesn't mean that I can be a youtuber too. Just because he has so many likes and followers doesn't mean that your posts will be viral too. God has a specific plan for you. That might be to touch just one person's life.
Why is there jelaousy or envy in my heart?
Few more questions to ponder.
Is materialism a priority for you?
Do you live with a baseline of Godliness in every walk of your life?
How content are you?
I was asking the same questions a few days back..I understand there is a spring with water even today. ..two in fact...but one is dry... however it may be..I realised that obedience in thought and deed was important..just because I am leading does not absolve me or release me from the rules and conditions in vogue....God does not show any favouritism...no brownie points for my leadership, or my excessive zeal...he makes me accountable...
