Ex:34 is the context
As God communicates to Moses and introduces Himself to him, Moses threw himself to the ground and worshipped Him. Moses continues to intercede for the children of Israel.
He requests God - Claim us as Your own special possession.
Moses had the heart of God in this. He knew exactly what God had in mind.
Throughout history, we see no other nation that has been actively intervened by God's very own hand. Though they have rebelled against Him, He still looked compassionately upon them giving them umpteen no. of chances.
Though they did not believe in His Son Jesus, on 19 May 1948 He made the impossible thing possible.
And in the book of revelation so many things are centred around the Jews and their protection.
He has claimed them as His very own special possession.
We too as gentiles, has been given this grace to be adopted into His family. Don't you doubt that it is all about Israel and I'm hooking up things for myself.
1 Pet:2:9 - For you are a chosen people. You are Royal priests, a holy nation God's very own possession.
V:10 - Once you had no identity as a people. Now you are God's people.
We - you and me are God's own. So precious to Him. Apple of the eye.
And it's not about the material benefits that follow this privilege that I want to highlight.
That I am His beloved.
That I am owned.
The warmth it creates to be owned in this cold selfish world......
That I am wanted.
That I'm important to someone.
That I am eternally destined to be in His bosom
Vagabond and wandering as I am.
Rebel as I am.
As the sunday school song says - Yes Jesus loves me. Yes Jesus loves me.
I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.
