Veil

Thiruonam is a harvest festival that we Malayalis celebrate in remembrance of King Mahabali who is said to visit Kerala during that time.
King Mahabali was a richly king dearly loved by his people because of his nobility and approachability. The king, according to the legend has been granted permission to visit and meet with his people every year.

Moses after his second stint of 40 days and nights with God, as he was coming down Mount Sinai, his face was glowing with radiance because he had spoken to God face to face. And they were afraid to come near him. Now when Moses beckons them and talked to them, only then they could approach near him. And also because of the radiance of his face he had to put a veil.

The radiance hadn't affected him. He was continually in touch with God. Even after the Mount Sinai experience he spends time with God in the Tent of Meeting. And whenever he speaks to God face to face he removes the veil. But whenever he deals with Israel, the veil would be on. Because they were afraid.

Yes there is no fear in love. Moses loved God so much that he was not afraid. Israelites were fearful of the consciousness of their sinfulness which was more than their love to God. Moses realised the love of God to him. Moses knew the character of God.

We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away.
But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth.
And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
2 Corinthians 3:13‭-‬16 NLT

The veil is lifted on account of the cross , just like the curtain is torn

Amazed - Poem

Matt:8:9 Does your faith amaze Him or disappoint Him?  I have never ever seen faith like this - Will He tell this about you?  I have never ever seen love like this?  I have never ever seen joy like this?  How do you amaze Him?  The All Knowing; The Creator God was amazed What is it that amazes Him in you; dear one?  Your rebellion? Your inconsistency? Your disobedience?  How much should I put up with you, bard?  Time to eat solid food. Time to provide too Whilst you are still drinking; still being fed.  What amazes Him in you dear one?  Your faithlessness or your unfaithfulness?  Your lack of love to Him?  Your lack of indignation to things which He hates?  Lord, Your grace; it amazes me.  Rebellious as I was. Enemy as I was.  Sinner as I am. You still love me.  What is there that you are mindful of me?  That i would be even considered.  Even more. You made me your child.  Grateful as I am. Kn...

Whom do you listen to?

Matt:11:18-19 John didn't spend his time eating and drinking.  Whilst the Son of man feasts and drinks. Both were found fault by the society and labelled.  Whatever you do, there would be people to criticise you and point fingers at you. But as long as you are I'm the center of God's plan and you are sure that you are pleasing God, then you need not bother.  People even from your own fellowship, your own family may blame you for those decisions. Forget about the world who doesn't know your Master. But if you do, after putting in much prayer and take decisions in accordance with what God tells you to do, then why bother about what others have to say. As long as you are sure that it is from God you listen.  John was bold enough to ask the society to repent not bothering about what they told about him. So was Jesus. He kept on doing what He had come to do.  You are affected by what people say about you. Then you are some one who tries to perform before ...

Balanced equation

Everyone who acknowledges me publicly, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.  Matt:10:32-33 The equation is very simple. If you acknowledge that you follow Jesus publicly here on earth; He will also acknowledged you before the Father in Heaven. The devil might lodge a claim that you are his. But the moment the Son of God acknowledges you, His righteousness, the Father sees in you and you are justified.  But if you have denied Him in this earth. He will also deny you. Whether you accept it or not. This is the truth.  Rom:10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Image credit:  https://www.wikihow.com/Balance-Chemical-Equations

Rest

Matt:11:28 Come to me all of you who are weak and carry heavy burdens, I will give you rest.  Like John Bunyan's pilgrim, we too grope around with heavy baggages on our back. He has come to take away that heavy load and ease our souls. Jesus has come to give us rest.  If only we would unleash the cords and give it over to Him. He will release us. For He has come to give us freedom. If only we would let Him.  Such a bold and freedom ensuring statement only Jesus can make. For all the helpless. For all the tired and weak and weary. For all those who feel they are done with this life. Jesus promises unending rest.  Image credit:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sleeping_lion.jpg

Unconventional route

When Jesus does miracles and blessings in our lives, we need Him. But when He does it in a different way, when He does it in a way in which it costs us, do we still need Him?  Matt:8:34. The entire town came out to meet Jesus, but begged Him to go away and leave them alone.  Because they suffered financial loss. There, sitting before them were two men who have just been delivered from a legion of evil spirits. The hand of God is quiet obvious. But financial loss is what they blame Him with.  If God asks you to take unconventional routes, do you become uncomfortable? Routes which cost you, your time, your finances, your privacy, your reputation and name? What is more important to you determines what you do. What other things you forsake.  We are no less than the Gaderenes who closed their eyes to the miracle in front of their eyes, yet clinging on to the loss they suffered. Silly and pitiful.  Image credit:  https://beunsettled.co/blog/what-does-...

Jesus is risen - a prose

So will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.  Matt:12:40 History proven With ample evidence Adequate eyewitness All ready foresaid in the past.  By prophets who didn't even know Him personally His own audacious claim.  Testified by His own common men disciples Transformation of lives, even now Seen by people in reality.  In fact many at one point.  Documented in ancient literature.  Proven by adequate research.  Beyond doubt.  Does it make sense to you? Or does it not?  But Jesus' resurrection - is true in my life.  I choose to believe. Your choice is your will.  He lives now in heaven.  Seated on the right hand side of the throne.  He dwells in my heart.  More than a friend, He is.  More than a soulmate He is.  Image credit: https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=risen+jesus

Bask

How would you feel if after all the heavy input that you have given and the hard work you have done, the credit goes to someone else. It would be hurting and demeaning right? You deserved the appreciation, but all went to someone else who wasn't even in the picture.  Even worse, Jesus would have felt, when He cast out demons, they were attributing it to satan instead of God's Spirit. A created being instead of the Creator Himself. The sworn in archenemy of God. A worthless being in comparison to the Almighty. How disappointing?  God is not willing to share His glory with anyone else or anything else. Not because He is selfish or possessive. But because He alone is worthy. If it is given to any created being, even man, even yourself, it is disappointing. Glory belongs to God alone. Doing things for your own pride is like taking God's glory.  How often have we done things and basked in the glory and appreciation that we would receive. We would say 'glory to Go...
