Jn:5:24
I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have passed from death into life.
Once you believe in God through the Son, it is promised that you will have eternal life, you will never be condemned and you have passed from the death to the life. These are definitive, affirmative statements.
Have.
Will never be.
Have passed.
There is no possibility that you might not when Jesus says this. There is one hundred percent surity.
Are we living with this assurance? We would never lose our salvation, we would never dwindle between death and life, provided we have been saved truly.
When Christ died for us on the cross, He died for all our sins, which were done in the past, in the present and in the future. All our sins are covered by His blood.
Does that mean, that I have the license to sin? No matter what I do, my sins are all covered? Can we sin, so that grace may abound? Not at all. That is why the clause, 'believe in God' is important. If you hear His message and believe in God, you would never go back to sin, reveling that very thing He so hates.
You can be assured that once you are saved, you are saved indeed - totally, wholly and eternally. But that is not a license.
